What is a good anti-aging diet?

This section introduces a diet that is good for anti-aging. There are various diets such as those that lower blood pressure and those that are good for weight loss, but in this article, let's consider diets that lower oxidative stress.

Antioxidant properties
First of all, there is an ingredient in the food we eat that is recognized for its antioxidant power.

These are "pigments".

For example, "anthocyanin" in blueberries is the component of the bluish-purple color of blueberries. Blueberries produce anthocyanin to protect their flesh from ultraviolet rays and attach it to their skin.
The other is "lycopene" in tomatoes. Lycopene is the ingredient that gives tomatoes their red color. Lycopene is also a component that tomatoes make to protect their own fruit.

You may have heard of anthocyanins and lycopene, both of which are good for you. They are both pigments. The fact that they contain a lot of pigments means that they have antioxidant properties.

This is because plants originally make pigments to protect themselves from UV rays. So, if you eat them, you can think of them as having an "antioxidant effect".
About Vitamins
I'm sure you've heard that vitamins also have a positive effect on antioxidants. There are many kinds of vitamins available in supplements.

In fact, there are some vitamins that you need to be careful about.

Vitamin A, vitamin K, vitamin D, and vitamin E are fat-soluble vitamins that dissolve in fat (oil). If taken in excess, these fat-soluble vitamins can accumulate in the body and cause health problems. Vitamin E in particular is said to have anti-acid properties, but please be careful not to overdose on supplements.
The amount contained in food is not much, so it should be considered safe. However, fat-soluble vitamins such as vitamin A, vitamin K, vitamin D, and vitamin E in supplements can lead to overdose, so be sure to follow the prescribed dosage listed on the label.
About Meals
I like meat in my daily meals! I like fish! Put your likes and dislikes aside for the moment.
As for meat and fish, both are very important sources of energy for humans. However, sugars and carbohydrates are not so good for the body when it comes to oxidative stress.

This is because the mitochondria are skipping a beat! As I mentioned in my article on the relationship between mitochondria and oxidative stress, sugar causes the mitochondria in your body to skip out on making energy. When this happens, oxidative stress spikes.
Sugar is not only found in sweets like cakes and chocolates, but it is also found as starch in staple foods like white rice and bread in our diet. It will be quite hard to suddenly cut out all sugars, so please take it easy and aim for a diet that leads to anti-aging.
